STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Bedroom, bathroom and kitchen products are back on the bedbathandbeyond.com domain, and the website now has a new look and feel. After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closing all of its brick-and-mortar stores, the home goods retailer is now officially back in business and operating exclusively online.
“Through this rebranding, we’re breathing new life into Bed Bath & Beyond, positioning it as an asset-light, e-commerce retailer with an expanded home furnishings and furniture assortment,” Jonathan Johnson, CEO of the new Bed Bath & Beyond, said in a press statement, announcing the revamped brand’s August 1 website launch. “Think of it as Bed Bath & a much bigger, better Beyond.”
The Bed Bath & Beyond brand was saved in a last-minute $21.5 million bid on June 28 when Overstock.com, a leading online furniture and home furnishings retailer, announced the acquisition of BB&B’s “intellectual property assets.”
And while all 360 Bed Bath & Beyond stores remain closed, the brand’s website is now once again fully functioning, and the old Overstock site now redirects to BB&B.
So what can you expect while shopping on the site? Here’s a look at some of the FAQs the company is currently fielding and the answers slightly edited, that are posted at bedbathandbeyond.com:
