In Haryana’s Nuh district, authorities carried out demolitions, including the Sahara Family Restaurant, along with 46 structures, including houses, pharmacies, and mobile repair stores, and 39 shanties. The demolition occurred after the state home minister referred to bulldozers as a ‘treatment’ solution. The government is investigating communal violence that started on July 31. While the official reason given for the demolitions is encroachment of government land, officials also suspect the involvement of property owners in the earlier rioting.
