Travel Deals and Promotions to Take Advantage of This Month

The summer travel season is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the end of travel deals. In fact, there are several promotions worth considering for your upcoming travels. Here are some of the latest offers:

1. Fly in business class to Switzerland or Asia: Air Canada’s Aeroplan points offer plenty of openings in business class between U.S. cities and Switzerland this August, starting at around 60,000 points each way. Partner airlines Swiss Air and other Star Alliance partners are available for travel. Other European destinations may also be available.

2. American AAdvantage members can plan ahead and find excellent business and first class award availability via partner airline Etihad for next spring and summer. Use American’s website to search for award space on Etihad flights to the Middle East and Asia through Abu Dhabi.

3. Take advantage of transferring miles: If you need more miles or points for an award redemption, consider transferring points between credit card loyalty programs. Hilton Honors points can be transferred from American Express Membership Rewards with a 25% bonus this month. Avianca’s LifeMiles program offers a 15% bonus for transferring Amex points.

4. Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred to the Marriott Bonvoy program with a 50% bonus until the end of September.

5. Earn bonus points when you travel: Register before August 15 and earn 1,000 bonus World of Hyatt points per night at Dream Hotels properties until September 15. The World of Hyatt Credit Card holders can also receive a 20% rebate on points spent at certain Hyatt Independent Collection brands before September 17.

6. IHG One Rewards members can earn a 15% points rebate when redeeming points for a stay at a new hotel this month.

7. Hilton Honors is offering a 100% bonus on purchased points until September 19.

8. Earn double elite qualifying miles on nonstop routes between California cities with Alaska Airlines between August 15 and November 15. Register by October 31 to be eligible.
